I had so much fun taping this podcast with Daniele Della Valle, NTP on her Happy Body podcast. Daniele was one of my group leaders when I was in school at the Nutritional Therapy Association. She is fierce, intelligent and radiates beauty to everyone around her. Daniel has a new book “Happy Weight” that is available on Amazon now. You can purchase your own copy here. I was one of the lucky chosen ones who got to be a beta reader for the book. I could not put the book down! I love its message and think every woman will benefit from reading it.
Happy weight is not your typical diet book it focuses on loving and accepting yourself! It provides you with great tools and guides to develop the self-confidence needed to make all your dreams come true. So many people think if they are the prefect weight that they will be happy. That is far from the truth our weight is just a number, we are so much more than that. Loving yourself will give you the power you need to treat your body like the temple it is. If we do not love ourselves why would we put effort into taking care of our vessel? We don’t! Once you accept yourself for the wonderful person you are, forgive yourself and others for past mistakes along with eating the right nutrient dense foods, you will get to your happy weight! Daniele gives you tools in the book to set boundaries and help you find your tribe. Community is important! It is important to surround ourselves with people that inspire us, motivate us and share the same passions! My tribe are people who love real food, truly love life, question everything and focus on the positive.
Happy Weight is not a diet book. Daniele does teach on the importance of real, organic and properly raised animal products. Working on our emotions is so important for our health but we also need to feed our hormones all the good fats. The NTA taught us that our hormones are like the lens that we see through. The more we learn about the body the more we learn that what we eat and what we absorb are responsible for so many aspects of our emotions. She covers the importance of healthy digestion to ensure you are absorbing all the nutrients of your real foods diet. You can eat the best foods but if you are not breaking them down and have healthy intestines you are not absorbing them leading to nutrient deficiencies.
I hope you enjoy this book and get as much out of it as I did. I believe it made be a better Nutritional Therapist too, giving me a better understanding of the emotional component of becoming healthy. A big part of my recovery was changing how I saw life. The deep nutrition I gave my body in that first year gave me what I needed to make my emotional changes. I see life in a new bright light since recovering. I never knew it could be this good and what I eat makes that possible!
You are what you eat, think and feel. Be kind and eat real food. Beth
